EDUCATION - its a tie...both offer good education

HEALTH CARE - a definate NO...the canadian system is a joke....you pay for it whether you use it or not (thru your taxes).....I was in the 40 percentile in canada coming out of college (and ya dont make much when you are the low man on the totem pole)......I make 10 times what I used to in canada and dont pay anywhere NEAR 40% in govt taxes.....you do the math?....furthermore, if you actually GET sick in canada, how long of a waiting list is there to get the problem fixed...in the USA it gets taken care of NOW....

Canadians have this crazy idea that health care in canada is FREE....its not....you just pay a hell of lot more upfront in taxes to subsidize the FREE healthcare

I will try to be Canadian.....

Health care in Canada sucks until you need surgery. I'd rather pay taxes than come across an operation that costs $20,000.

It's not a matter of paying for what you get, it's a matter of covering your ass in case something really bad happens. Just like any insurance.

ive had 5 pretty major surgeries in the last 2 years and paid a total of $500...that includes follow up dr visits, medications, and all.

Well, I'm not going to pretend that I know enough about either system to say which is better.

All I know is that I'm comfortable and happy with our system. That's not to say it's being executed well, though.

But overall, I feel safe that I won't have to worry about shelling out huge amounts of money at one time if something was to happen to me.
